No, you don't have a good taste in music.

We live in a world where a teenager can create a beat sitting in his classroom using only his pens in Darbhanga in the Indian state of Bihar and a person sitting on his couch in Brisbane, Australia might like it and upload it on his Instagram story and make it viral!

The beat would be uploaded on YouTube and would be used by hundreds of content creators. But the clip carrying the beat would have some dislikes. Some people wouldn't like it and people would call them out for that, using all sorts of cuss.

When I see that, I often get reminded of a friend who is a big fan of alternative and progressive rock. He absolutely despises EDM and feels that 'millenials' don't know anything about music.
But what is music? Why do we need to turn music into a highschool physics equation which cannot be solved using multiple ways?

Music should be anything that feels good to our ears. There are just different tastes in music. There ain't any good or bad tastes, just different tastes. So stop saying that the guy you met that evening has a good taste in music. He just happens to have either a diverse or a similar taste in music as yours. Or you might be of the opinion that if one listens to the well-known musical legends, they inherently have a good taste in music. But that's quite subjective.

Anyone who dislikes 'Mr. Brightside' is dumb though xD
